About us
The Church of God in Auckland is a legally-registered organization in Auckland , established in 1995 by a group of Christians from The Church of God in Hong Kong. We are a group of Christians who live out a devout commitment to Biblical truth.
We are one big, warm God’s family. Our members consist of individuals from all groups of society, including the elderly, housewives, professionals, as well as students of all levels of education.
COMMUNITY CARE
We believe that the entire Bible is the word of God, and the absolute criterion and foundation of our belief and living. We believe in the Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as the only true God. We believe that the Lord Jesus is the only Saviour of mankind, and that He died on the cross to bear the iniquities of men, resurrected from death on the third day, ascended to Heaven, and will one day come back to receive the Church. We also believe that the Church is the core of God’s eternal plan; that it is the congregation which has been called by God from the world. Every Christian who has been saved by grace through Faith is a member of God’s family, and has an eternal relationship with God.
GOSPEL WORK
We are zealous in preaching the gospel; we care for the needs of people’s souls. We regularly organise gospel activities, meetings and home visits. Many people with whom we have come into contact have undergone wonderful life transformations after receiving the gospel. We conduct meetings in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
CHRISTIAN LIVING
In addition to missionary work, we attend to the whole-person development of our members. We provide various services including tutoring for students, marriage counselling for couples, health talks, personal consoling, funeral services and settlement information for new immigrants. Furthermore, we organise many recreational activities such as sports, barbecues, camps, festive celebrations, and family outings.
Moreover, we emphasise the importance of following all teachings from the Bible, and pay high regard to the character development of our members as well as their relationships with family.
OUR BELIEF
We regularly organises a wide variety of activities to serve the community locally and globally. In the past, we have organised English courses to assist migrants of Cantonese-speaking background to aid their integration and participation into the community. We have also hosted health seminars, arts and crafts classes, cooking classes as well as sport competition. In addition, we have made visits to nursing homes, and organised recreational performances for the elderly. Also,we organise the missionary team to provide services and spiritually support in Oceanic region or other regions. Recently, we have extended our work to fundraise for various charity projects. In 2012, the Church of God in Auckland established Light and Love Home Inc for providing love share and care to the community locally and globally .
FINANCE
We adhere to all teachings of the Bible. The Church is financially supported by free offerings from our members. The financial statement of the Church is subject to audits and announced at the annual general meeting.
At last, we embrace the principle of glorifying God and benefiting men. Furthermore, we hope to understand the unsearchable riches of Christ together with Christian from various meeting places around the world.
